Elizabeth B Wright
Known for her creative energy, Wright arrived in Milford thirty years ago. With a background in urban social work and feminist fervor, the switch to public education and environmental activism combined to serve Milford. A term on P & Z and a love of maps has lead to other environmental pursuits. Not really retiring she opened the Beach Gallery and painted with a focus on Milford's history. Most recently showing regularly at the Maple St Gallery in Chester (which recently closed), Wright is now promoting local artists at Alfa's in Walnut Beach. Her painting style is bold, colorful and often whimsical. The paintings shown here are simple scenes of modern Milford. Her favorite is the Duck Pond in the spring because she sat out in the damp grass and hung out with geese while painting.
Wright's paintings below are available for sale at the Milford Historical Society, 34 High Street. If interested, contact MHS through the contact page for more information.
